Duties
- Apply joint compound and tape to drywall seams, corners, and joints with precision and efficiency
- Sand and smooth surfaces to prepare for painting or finishing touches, ensuring a flawless finish
- Install drywall panels on walls and ceilings according to blueprints and schematics
- Caulk and seal joints around fixtures, trims, and edges for a seamless appearance
- Assist with related tasks such as framing, plastering, or trim carpentry as needed on the job site
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine measurements and placement of drywall components
- Collaborate with carpenters, painters, and other trades to ensure project milestones are met on time
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and debris removal throughout the project lifecycle
- Support restoration projects by repairing water damage or mold remediation efforts involving drywall surfaces
- Use hand tools and power equipment including airless paint sprayers for finishing work when applicable
Experience
- Proven experience working on construction sites with drywall finishing or related trades such as plastering or carpentry
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and technical drawings relevant to drywall installation and finishing
- Familiarity with construction estimating processes is a plus for understanding project scope and materials planning
- Hands-on experience in construction painting, tile laying, metal stud framing, or fixture installation is advantageous
- Knowledge of water damage restoration techniques and mold remediation enhances versatility in project types
- Skilled in caulking, trim carpentry, stucco application, masonry work, flooring installation, or remodeling projects is highly desirable
- Previous work in the restoration industry or maintenance person roles demonstrates adaptability across various construction tasks
- Ability to interpret construction drawings accurately and follow safety protocols diligently
