Role: An Optometrist providing routine vision and medical examinations within California's scope of practice, supporting a community health organization.
Responsibilities: Conduct vision and ocular health assessments using various instruments, diagnose ocular conditions, prescribe glasses and treatments, interpret exam data, develop treatment plans, and complete related documentation. Educate patients about findings and coordinate with ophthalmology referrals as needed.
Qualifications: Doctor of Optometry degree, valid California license, Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agents Certification, and NPI. Experience with diverse, low-income populations, including Spanish speakers, and knowledge of modern optometric techniques. Ability to perform exams on children and adults, communicate effectively, and maintain confidentiality.
Skills: Proficiency in eye examinations, data analysis, patient communication, and working with diverse communities. Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
