About the Role:

The Lube Technician at Toyota of Grand Rapids plays a critical role in ensuring vehicles receive timely and high-quality maintenance services, specifically focusing on oil changes and lubrication tasks. This position is essential for maintaining customer satisfaction by providing efficient, accurate, and safe service that helps extend the life and performance of customers' vehicles. The technician will work closely with the service team to inspect vehicles, identify potential issues, and perform routine maintenance according to Toyota standards. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are paramount to prevent vehicle damage and ensure a safe working environment. Ultimately, this role contributes to the dealership’s reputation for reliability and customer care by delivering consistent, professional service in the retail automotive maintenance sector.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in automotive maintenance or a related field, specifically with oil changes and lubrication services.
• Basic knowledge of automotive systems and maintenance procedures.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and safety protocols.
• Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Basic hand tool set.
• Experience working in a dealership environment, preferably with Toyota vehicles.
• Familiarity with computerized service tracking systems.
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Perform oil changes, lubrication, and other routine maintenance services on customer vehicles following Toyota’s service guidelines.
• Inspect vehicles for fluid levels, leaks, tire condition, and other basic maintenance needs, reporting any concerns to the service advisor.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and equipment are properly stored and maintained.
• Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers to provide updates on service progress and any additional maintenance recommendations.
• Adhere strictly to safety standards and environmental regulations when handling automotive fluids and disposing of waste materials.

Skills:

The required skills enable the Lube Technician to perform routine maintenance tasks efficiently and accurately, ensuring vehicles are serviced according to manufacturer standards. Attention to detail and mechanical aptitude help in identifying potential issues during inspections, allowing for proactive maintenance recommendations.
