Construction Carpenter – Restaurants & Commercial

Position Summary:
The Construction Carpenter is responsible for performing skilled carpentry work on restaurant build-outs, remodels, and commercial tenant improvement projects. This role involves framing, installation, and finishing work while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform rough and finish carpentry for restaurant and retail construction projects
• Layout, measure, cut, and assemble wood and metal framing, walls, ceilings, and partitions
• Install doors, windows, cabinetry, millwork, and fixtures
• Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and specifications
• Assist with demolition, site preparation, and jobsite cleanup
• Coordinate with superintendents, subcontractors, and other trades
• Ensure work complies with building codes, plans, and safety regulations
• Operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely
• Maintain quality workmanship and meet fast-paced project schedules
• Identify and report issues, delays, or material shortages

Qualifications:

• 2 years of carpentry experience in commercial construction
• Experience with restaurant build-outs, fast food, or retail tenant improvements preferred
• Ability to read blueprints and follow detailed instructions
• Proficient with carpentry tools, equipment, and materials
• Strong understanding of construction safety practices (OSHA knowledge preferred)
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to job sites

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with metal stud framing, drywall, and finish carpentry
• Knowledge of ADA requirements and commercial building codes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Work Environment:

• Active construction sites (indoor and outdoor conditions)
• Physically demanding work including lifting, climbing, and standing for long periods
• May require early mornings, nights, or weekend work to meet project deadlines
