The RCP is responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions, ensuring safe, effective, and compassionate care in accordance with hospital policies and physician orders.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform respiratory assessments and develop appropriate care plans for adult patientsAdminister oxygen therapy, aerosol treatments, and medications as prescribedManage and monitor mechanical ventilation, including ventilator setup, adjustments, and troubleshootingPerform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analyze resultsProvide airway management, including suctioning and emergency respiratory interventionsRespond promptly to emergency situations such as Code Blue and Rapid Response callsMonitor patient response to therapy and document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomesEnsure proper use, cleaning, and maintenance of respiratory equipmentComply with infection control, safety, and regulatory standardsQualificationsGraduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy programCurrent Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credentialActive and unrestricted state Respiratory Care Practitioner licenseCurrent BLS certification (ACLS preferred)Minimum 1 year of adult acute care experience preferredExperience with ventilators, critical care, and emergency response preferredPrecision Scans is an equal opportunity employer, committed to cultural diversity.
