POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for managing month-end closings, preparing financial statements, maintaining the general ledger, overseeing cost accounting, managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring tax compliance, and conducting various special analyses
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (essential functions of position):

- Support all aspects of accounting functions including Billing, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Support month-end and year-end close process
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Comply with all local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, with help from an outside CPA firm.
- Additional duties as necessary
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION, SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or related discipline
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Excellent accounting software and spreadsheet user
NONESSENTIAL SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS (not necessary but preferred):
- CPA or CMA preferred
