We are looking for an experienced Operations Manager with a strong freight brokerage background to oversee day-to-day execution, support company leadership, and keep our operation running with accuracy, urgency, and accountability.
This is a senior leadership role within our brokerage operation. You will work directly with company leadership to manage daily execution, lead the operations team, solve escalations, improve processes, and help drive continued growth.
Your Impact:
As Operations Manager at Precision Freight, you will lead the operational side of the brokerage business. You will guide the team, manage priorities, protect service levels, and make sure freight moves smoothly from pickup through delivery.
You will be responsible for team accountability, customer service, carrier performance, issue resolution, and operational consistency. Your leadership will help our sales and operations teams work together to deliver strong service and profitable growth.
What You’ll Do:
Oversee daily freight brokerage operations including load coverage, dispatch, tracking, tracing, carrier communication, and issue resolution.
Lead, coach, and develop brokers, dispatchers, coordinators, and operations support team members.
Work directly with company leadership to manage daily execution and support business priorities.
Monitor active shipments, open loads, service issues, rate concerns, claims, late pickups, late deliveries, and customer escalations.
Partner with sales to support customer onboarding, account growth, and long-term customer success.
Build and maintain strong carrier relationships to improve coverage, pricing, and service reliability.
Review key performance metrics including load count, gross margin, on time pickup, on time delivery, carrier performance, and customer satisfaction.
Create, improve, and enforce standard operating procedures for customers, lanes, and internal workflows.
Resolve escalated customer and carrier issues with urgency and professionalism.
Identify process gaps and improve systems, communication, training, and team structure.
Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management for operations employees.
Maintain compliance with carrier requirements, company policies, FMCSA standards, and shipment documentation procedures.
Provide regular updates to leadership on operational performance, customer issues, staffing needs, and process improvements.
What We’re Looking For:
5 or more years of freight brokerage, logistics, transportation, or 3PL operations experience.
Previous experience leading freight brokers, dispatchers, coordinators, or operations teams.
Strong understanding of truckload brokerage, carrier sourcing, rate negotiation, load tracking, and customer service.
Proven ability to lead people in a fast paced freight environment.
Experience handling service failures, urgent escalations, carrier issues, customer complaints, and high pressure shipments.
Strong problem solving skills and sound decision making under pressure.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, urgent loads, and daily operational deadlines.
Knowledge of carrier compliance, freight claims, shipment documentation, and transportation best practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred, but not required with strong industry experience.
