PCDI Homes is a custom home building business located in Basehor, KS. We have a small, relaxed, office environment and are looking for a part-time bookkeeper and office manager. Because we are a small business, there's not a singular job title that encompasses all the job duties. The primary job responsibilities are related to bookkeeping.

Total hours are expected to be around 20-24 hours per week. A general fixed schedule is to be determined with the candidate based on meeting both the employer and employee needs; however, flexibility may be available. All hours will be during normal business hours and in person. Based on company operations, more demand and consistency is required during “pay weeks” which is every other week.

Depending on qualifications and skills, hours may be able to be expanded into other duties if more hours are desired.

Job duties to include, but are not limited to:

  • Process Accounts Payable.
  • Process Accounts Receivable.
  • Process construction loan draws.
  • Perform payroll.
  • Complete general ledger inputs.
  • Make bank deposits.
  • Reconcile bank accounts.
  • Maintain documentation of subcontractor insurance coverage.
  • Answer phone and distribute messages (typically no more than 3-4 calls per day).
  • Compile information requested by the CPA.
  • Complete other various accounting and administrative duties as needed.
  • Apply for building permits, utility meters, and set up accounts.
  • Process refunds.
  • Apply for rebates.
  • Keep maintenance records for trucks and equipment.
  • Keep inventory records.
  • Order office supplies.
  • Assist walk-in clients or vendors.
  • Assist in showroom organization.

Additional possible job duties for additional hours if skill & interest exist:

  • Photo editing
  • Marketing material creation
  • Assisting clients
  • Researching ideas and other special projects
  • Helping with special events

Experience Requirements:

  • Experience in QuickBooks is required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Good organizational skills are essential as this is mostly a self-directed position.
  • Good communication skills are essential.

Education Requirements:

  • H.S diploma or GED - we believe in hiring the right person, which does not require a formal education.

Benefits:

  • Major holidays are paid if they fall on a typical scheduled workday. These include New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, plus 1 additional discretionary holiday of the employee’s choice.
  • Paid time off: 2 part-time weeks annually during the first 2 years of employment and then increasing. Part-time week hours are based on the average number of hours worked per week in the previous 3 months. The first “week” of leave is available after just 3 months of employment.
  • Sick leave: 3 days per year (based on the number of hours for the fixed schedule for the day of leave).
  • Flexible scheduling: Flexible scheduling is available for scheduled appointments or other needs to be able to make up hours outside of the fixed schedule if you need the additional hours and don’t have leave available.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
