Position Summary
Selected candidates for a Level One Thermal Spray Operator position involves the ability to prepare parts for thermal spraying, performing dimensional checks, and monitoring parameters. Selected Level 1 Thermal Spray Operators will be expected to read and follow written instruction in the form of job specific work orders as well as customer process specifications as necessary for the successful completion of all interrelated tasks in accordance with defined requirements. Candidates must be self-disciplined and self-motivated individuals with strong accountability (attention to details) skills. Candidates must have the ability and desire to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced production environment, be resourceful and innovative along with presenting a strong business ethic and compliance to leadership and company policies, and a good communicator with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Set up various types of tooling, fixtures, and parts
- Perform in-process dimensional checks using various instrumentation
- Monitor machine parameters
- Preparing parts for thermal spraying
- Must be able to effectively communicate
- Must be able to complete all required paperwork
- Understand, adhere, and demonstrate to the company’s commitment to QUALITY and SAFETY!
- Maintaining regular and punctual attendance according to shift-times or a pre-arranged work schedule
- Follow all policies, procedures, and work instructions
- Will require use of personal protective equipment (PPE) during certain tasks (goggles, safety glasses, aprons, boots, gloves, hearing protection, etc) and be expected to comply with safety directives and policy.
- Position also includes the performance of various duties related to collection and/or storage of Hazardous Waste
- Use of the type of PPE required for the particular work task(s).
- Proper disposal of used PPE to work center containers.
- Proper transfer of work center containers to the correct Hazardous Waste Storage location.
- Proper work practice and labeling for Waste Collection and Waste Containers.
- Familiarity with facility emergency procedures and Hazardous Waste Contingency Plan
- Other duties as assigned
- Able to read micrometers, Vernier calipers, thickness testers;
- Basic computer skills required;
- Must have the ability to read and interpret work orders;
- Outstanding attention to detail;
- Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize, and willingness to perform extra work and take on new projects; and,
- Ability to work in a dynamic, fast paced and changing environment; with a strong sense of teamwork
- 1 – 3 years in a machine shop or manufacturing environment
- 0 – 3 years in a metal finishing environment
- High school diploma
