Primary Duties & Responsibilities
The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting month-end close, maintaining the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and reconciling accounts. This role works closely with the Controller/Accounting Manager and supports audits, reporting, and operational finance activities. The position requires independent judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with month end closing processes, maintain the general ledger, generate monthly journal entries and reconcile accounts.
- Provide data for forecasting and budgeting process
- Prepare and disseminate routine and Ad Hoc reporting requests
- Support SOX reporting and testing processes
- Support audit requests with internal and external audit groups
- Support physical inventory counts & calculate inventory reserves
- Special Projects: Operational reporting requests, capital projects, etc
- Assist with Intercompany confirmations between sister entities
- Prepare and file taxes and external reporting including but not limited to L&I reporting, B&O taxes, 1099 reporting, property taxes, and census reports.
- Perform other duties, as assigned
- Position includes duties that require PPE (for parts handling, normally only gloves are required to prevent skin to part contact) for any handling of customer hardware.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Demonstrated understanding and application of U.S. GAAP
- Previous public accounting experience with manufacturing clients is a plus
- SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act) reporting experience is a plus
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred, or equivalent combination of education and 2–5 years of experience
- Normal office environment
- Frequently required to move about the facility resulting in exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors and temperature variations
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hearing protection and safety shoes
