Position Summary
The Braze Alloy Applicator / Assembly Technician is responsible for the precise preparation and application of brazing alloys and assembly of components prior to the brazing process. This role ensures proper joint preparation, alloy placement, and assembly alignment to meet quality and engineering requirements. This role will also perform other assembly and adhesive related tasks. Accuracy and consistency in this position are critical to achieving high first-pass yield and minimizing rework.

This role will also perform other assembly and adhesive related tasks. Accuracy and consistency in this position are critical to achieving high first-pass yield and minimizing rework.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply brazing alloy (paste, wire, preforms, or shims) to components per work instructions and engineering specifications
- Prepare parts for brazing, including cleaning, degreasing, and surface preparation
- Assemble components and fixtures to ensure proper joint fit-up and alignment
- Measure and control alloy quantity and placement to ensure proper flow during brazing
- Read and interpret blueprints, travelers, and work instructions
- Maintain proper gap tolerances and joint clearances for optimal brazing results
- Perform visual inspection of assemblies prior to brazing to ensure readiness
- Identify and report improper fit-up, contamination, or defects before parts move to brazing
- Handle and store brazing materials according to specifications (temperature, shelf life, etc.)
- Maintain traceability of materials and jobs per company and quality requirements
- Work closely with brazing technicians to ensure assemblies meet process needs
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation (5S standards)
- Follow all safety procedures, especially when handling chemicals, solvents, and alloys
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of manufacturing, assembly, or prep work experience
- Ability to read basic blueprints and work instructions
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- Good manual dexterity and steady hand for precise application
- Ability to use hand tools and basic measuring devices
- Experience with brazing prep or welding prep processes
- Familiarity with braze alloys (silver, nickel, copper-based, etc.)
- Experience in aerospace, medical, or high-precision manufacturing
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Understanding of joint design and capillary action in brazing
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
- Ability to perform repetitive fine-motor tasks
- Ability to lift up to 30–50 lbs as needed
- Comfortable working with chemicals, solvents, and PPE
- Manufacturing / production floor
- Exposure to solvents, cleaning agents, and industrial materials
- PPE required (gloves, safety glasses, etc.)
