Duties
- Assist with supervising children during playtime, meals, naps, and structured activities to ensure safety and engagement
- Support teachers in implementing age-appropriate educational programs focused on childhood development and early learning skills
- Help maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that promotes safety and learning readiness
- Engage children in developmental activities that encourage social skills, creativity, and curiosity
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding daily activities, progress, and any concerns to foster strong relationships
- Follow mandated reporting laws to identify and report any signs of neglect or abuse promptly
- Support classroom management strategies to promote positive behavior and respectful interactions among children
Skills
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of child development principles and age-specific caregiving techniques
- First aid and CPR certification (including pediatric first aid) to ensure immediate response to emergencies
- Strong understanding of behavior management strategies and classroom management techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members
- Familiarity with special education needs and experience working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Demonstrated patience, compassion, and enthusiasm for working with young children in a caregiving environment
