Duties
- Assist lead teachers in implementing age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development for infants and toddlers
- Supervise children closely during playtime, meals, naps, and outdoor activities to ensure safety and well-being
- Support classroom management by maintaining a clean, organized, and stimulating environment that encourages exploration and learning
- Engage with children through nurturing interactions, encouraging language development, and fostering positive social behaviors
- Communicate effectively with parents about their child's daily experiences, milestones, and any concerns or observations
- Follow all health and safety protocols including pediatric first aid, CPR procedures, mandated reporting laws, and infection control practices
- Assist with diapering, feeding, and other caregiving tasks to meet each child's individual needs
Experience
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare centers, preschools, babysitting, nannying or similar settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
- Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs is a plus
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain upon hire) is required
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with parents, children, and team members
- Understanding of mandated reporting laws related to child safety and welfare
