Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Mechanic role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. The Mechanic will perform routine and preventive maintenance on production and facility equipment, including mechanical systems, packaging lines, and related heavy equipment. Responsibilities include diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues, completing repairs, and documenting all work performed to support safety and compliance standards. The role involves collaborating with production, quality, and operations teams to minimize downtime, optimize equipment performance, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The Mechanic will also assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and periodic inspections to ensure reliable, efficient, and safe plant operations.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair for production machinery and facility systems.
- Experience with Preventive Maintenance programs, including scheduled inspections, servicing, and documentation.
- Hands-on experience working with Heavy Equipment, production lines, and related industrial components.
- Proven Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues.
- Prior experience as an industrial, manufacturing, or plant mechanic, preferably in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, food, or similar regulated environments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and equipment drawings.
- Commitment to safety practices, including lockout/tagout and safe handling of tools and equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training in mechanics, industrial maintenance, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site full time, occasionally on different shifts or overtime as business needs arise.
- Strong communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse team.
