Duties
- Manage the preparation, review, and submission of insurance documentation, including policies, claims, and amendments.
- Coordinate with clients and insurance providers to clarify policy details, coverage options, and claim statuses.
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models related to insurance costs, risk assessments, and coverage analysis using spreadsheets and financial software.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and industry-specific financial regulations during all insurance-related transactions.
- Conduct audits of insurance records to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to regulatory standards.
- Support mergers & acquisitions activities by analyzing financial data related to insurance liabilities and integrating new policies into existing frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal teams on project management tasks related to policy renewals, claims processing, and regulatory updates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, financial regulations affecting insurance practices, and tax accounting standards relevant to the sector.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding policy details, updates, or issues while providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in finance or accounting roles with a focus on insurance or risk management.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications—especially Excel spreadsheets—and familiarity with financial software systems.
- Demonstrated ability to develop financial models related to insurance costs and risk analysis.
- Knowledge of GAAP standards as they pertain to insurance accounting practices.
- Understanding of industry regulations governing financial compliance within the insurance sector.
- Excellent analysis skills for interpreting complex financial data and supporting auditing procedures.
- Experience supporting mergers & acquisitions activities from a financial perspective is preferred.
- Effective client communication skills combined with project management capabilities to handle multiple priorities efficiently.
