Duties
- Assist dentists chairside during a variety of procedures including general dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment following strict infection prevention management protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays and 3D scans, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Manage patient records using electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support patient care by taking vital signs, reviewing medical histories, and providing clear instructions on post-treatment care.
- Maintain clinical cleanliness by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control policies aligned with healthcare infection prevention standards.
- Coordinate patient management software to schedule appointments, update medical documentation, and facilitate smooth patient flow within the clinic.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar dental clinic environment with knowledge of dental terminology and procedures.
- Proficiency in dental software such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or Epic for managing medical records and documentation.
- Strong understanding of dental equipment operation including X-ray machines, 3D scanners, and sterilization devices.
- Knowledge of infection control practices, dental sterilization procedures, and aseptic techniques to ensure safety for patients and staff.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting with four-handed dentistry techniques across various specialties like oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulations including HIPAA compliance and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients of all ages while demonstrating professionalism and empathy.
- Certification in radiography (dental x-ray) is preferred; additional certifications in medical coding or pediatric dentistry are a plus.

Pay: $24.81 - $29.88 per hour
