Based in Portland, Maine, and offering services statewide, Preble Street’s low-barrier, client-centered programs provide casework, housing, shelter, food, and other essential services to people in our community experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty, while advocating for long-term solutions to these problems.
As a member of the Development Team, the Donor Relations Manager (DRM) is responsible for working with the development staff, leadership, board members, and the community to execute a comprehensive major donor program and achieve fundraising campaign goals to support the Preble Street mission.
This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position with a Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm schedule
Qualifications:The ideal candidate should have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years of related professional experience. Candidates should demonstrate success managing complex campaign initiatives and major donor programs, along with experience coordinating projects, meetings, and both virtual and in-person events. Strong proficiency in customer service and public relations is required.
A strong understanding of homelessness and poverty, along with a genuine commitment to the agency’s mission, is essential.
Responsibilities
The DRM’s responsibilities will include:
- Manage prospective donor development (identification, research, evaluation, strategy, and tracking) to support annual, campaign, and planned giving fundraising efforts
- Establish solicitation priorities; manage prospect lists and research; and develop and execute targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies
- Coordinate with the development team to integrate efforts with other agency fundraising and communications strategies
- Manage day-to-day campaign operations
- Prepare status reports for campaign volunteers and leadership
- Oversee acknowledgment of all campaign gifts and pledges, including preparation of pledge agreements and payment reminders
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time (40 hours/week), salaried position offers a competitive compensation of $65,000, annualized. Generous paid time off, insurance, and retirement plan benefits include:
