The Preble ESC is seeking a qualified individual to serve as an Intervention Specialist for a new High School Life Skills Classroom, to be located at the Success Academy in Eaton, OH
Position Description
- Manage classroom and implement appropriate programming
- Develop and implement IEPs
- Conduct and participate in team meetings
- Supervise classroom assistants and 1:1 aides
Essential Functions
- Ensure safety of students
- Develop schedules and lesson plans for classroom appropriate to students' IEPs
- Develop and implement behavior management plans
- Communicate with classroom assistants and 1:1's for student program implementation
- Maintain a classroom that is conducive to learning
- Interact in a positive manner with staff, students, and parents
- Demonstrate a positive work ethic
- Collaborate, as necessary, with outside agencies for the success of the student
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education from an accredited college or university
- Appropriate State of Ohio teaching license (Intervention Specialist)
- Experience and/or training that demonstrates the ability to instruct students with moderate to intense Multiple Disability needs.
