Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers with implementing daily lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards, including literacy, math, and social skills development
- Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and helping children follow routines and rules
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote cognitive, emotional, and physical development
- Provide individualized attention and support to children with diverse needs, including those with disabilities or autism
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment conducive to active learning and exploration
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to ensure a collaborative approach to early childhood education
- Help monitor children’s progress and document observations to inform ongoing assessment and planning
Qualifications
- Prior experience working with preschool-aged children in daycare, preschool, or early childhood education settings
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and early learning standards
- Experience with special education strategies, behavior management techniques, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and families
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, and literacy education methods
- Ability to manage classroom activities confidently while maintaining a warm and supportive environment
- Certification or coursework in early childhood education or related fields is preferred; Montessori or preschool experience is a plus
