POSITION OVERVIEW
· We are a small, boutique design–build firm seeking a highly organized and design-minded Interior Design Assistant to work directly under the Design Director and support our team. This role is primarily office-based with occasional site visits and local errands around town. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-focused, and excited to be hands-on in a close-knit, creative environment.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
· Build slide decks for design team – design conception, layout ideas, cabinet plans, selections, furnishings
· Assist with ordering, receiving, inspection, inventory, and organization of project fixtures and finishings
· Compile spec sheets and file selections documentation for design and construction teams
· Process change orders, invoices, bills, and design changes in project management system
· Maintain and organize sample library
· Run local errands for pickups, returns, and site visits as needed
· Attend select site meetings to take measurements, notes, and progress photos
· Lend support during install days or walkthroughs, as needed
· Light administrative support
· Take jobsite measurements and notes at drafting meetings
· Create elevations and layout documents for electrical, plumbing, special features, etc to be used in design and construction phases
· Create 2D and 3D imaging to help demonstrate custom design elements to clients/construction team
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
· Experience working with an interior design team
· Proficient with slide presentations and spreadsheets
· SketchUp (or comparable rendering program) experience is ideal
· Understanding and knowledge of basic design and construction terminology
· Strong eye for design, color, materials, spatial layout
· Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation
· Clear and detailed communication skills in-person, as well as by phone, email, and documentation
· Excellent time management skills
· Ability to accomplish multiple unrelated projects by prioritizing based off of instructions from design team
· Any work from home to be performed on personal computer. In-office computer will be provided.
· Must like four-legged friends! We are a dog-friendly office!
WORK SCHEDULE/BENEFITS
· This position will be paid hourly, ranging from 30-40 hours per week
· Scheduled meetings and errands that requiring team member to be in the office or on jobsites across the Greater Charleston area.
· Typical office hours for PRD: M-F 8:30 am – 5 pm
· PRD Office located at owners’ property on Johns Island
· Gas mileage reimbursement for site visits.
· Paid PRD Holidays
