Lumber Yard Associate

About the Position
We are looking for a dependable and hardworking Lumber Yard Associate to join our team. This position plays a key role in providing excellent customer service while ensuring the safe and efficient handling of lumber and building materials.
Responsibilities
- Load customer vehicles with lumber and building materials in a safe and efficient manner
- Operate forklifts and other yard equipment to move, stack, and organize inventory
- Unload incoming shipments of lumber and materials, verifying counts and quality
- Pull orders together accurately for customer pickups and deliveries
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in the yard and warehouse
- Provide friendly and helpful assistance to customers and delivery drivers
Qualifications
- Ability to drive or willingness to learn to drive a truck with a manual transmission
- Previous experience in a lumber yard, warehouse, or similar environment preferred but not required
- Ability to operate or willingness to be trained on forklifts and other material-handling equipment
- Strong attention to safety practices and detail
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 100 lbs) regularly
- Dependable, team-oriented, and customer-service minded
