Yard Associate

Role Summary: The Yard Associate II is responsible for loading and unloading delivery trucks, along with keeping the warehouse and landscape supply yard well organized. This position requires interaction with customers as you help load products into their vehicles and assist them with any questions they might have. To be a successful Yard Associate II, you must be organized, plan ahead, and be able to prioritize your daily work.

Job Responsibilities

• Operates heavy equipment such as a loader to move product or load product for customers
• Organizes and cleans warehouse and landscape supply yard
• Ensures that all materials are properly identified, packaged, and labeled
• Examines materials visually to ensure conformance to established standards
• Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and warehouse
• Organizes, plans, and prioritizes daily work
• Uses forklift or loader to move product around the yard
• Completes all necessary documentation at the end of shift
• Assisting customers daily
• Supports the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company
• Operates within company policy and submits reports as requested
• Responsible for safety and health of self and others
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift certification required
• Heavy equipment experience preferred
• Proficiency in English
• Bi-lingual, Spanish speaking strongly preferred
• Basic Math skills
• Familiarity with inventory procedures
• Solid communication and interpersonal skills
• Point of Sale experience is a plus
• Computer knowledge is a plus
• Must be 18 years of age

PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

• Ability to routinely lift 25 - 75 lbs. without assistance
• Standing/walking continuously
• Stooping/bending often

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position primarily works outdoors in the yard and are exposed to the elements. Conditions can be dusty due to the product we sell.
