The Department of Athletics and Recreation is searching for a part-time Assistant Cross Country Track & Field Coach who is a positive, energetic and enthusiastic leader with the ability to teach, motivate, build, develop, and recruit student-athletes. Reporting to the Head Track & Field and Cross Country Coach, the Assistant Coach will assist in developing, organizing and administering all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division III Track and Field and Cross Country program. Higher priority will be given to a candidate with specific background in sprints, jumps, or strength coaching. This is a part-time stipend position, paid bi-weekly.

Examples of Duties
- Assist the Head Coach with all aspects of coaching, program, team management, planning and executing training, practices, and meets
- Aid in all levels of prospective student-athlete recruitment
- Participate in professional electronic, phone and interpersonal communication to individual players, administrators, and recruits
- Assist with off-season training, in-season training, and strength & conditioning for all athletes, specifically sprinters and jumpers
- Assist with team travel, including driving passenger vans for meets and practices
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills
- Familiarity with NCAA Division III rules
- Ability to work weekends is crucial
- Ability to work well in a diverse environment
- Valid Driver’s License and comfortable driving a 12-passenger van
- Experience competing at the NCAA, NAIA, or NJCAA level
- At least one year coaching experience at the college/university level with sprints, hurdles, and/or multi’s OR at least three years coaching at the high school level
- Master’s Degree
- Candidate should be able to coordinate individual or specialized workouts
- Professional references will be requested later in the interview process. Candidates should be prepared to provide at least three professional references, including two current or former managers/supervisors. We encourage submitting up to five references total to ensure alternate contacts are available if needed.
