What are the responsibilities and job description for the Van Driver position at Pratt Industries?
Essential Functions/Position Responsibilities:
- DOT pre-trip and post-trip inspections are required.
- Communication with Route Supervisor.
- Monitor all gauges, dials, other indicators to ensure they are working properly, if something is not working, report it to the route supervisor immediately.
- Fulfill all assigned route pickups daily
- Operate hydraulic controls.
- Tarp loads when required.
- Operate tipper at landfill.
- Drop and hook trailers daily as needed.
- Backing and navigating truck in tight spaces.
- Ensure loads adhere to DOT load securement requirements.
- Clean interior of truck as needed.
- Notify Route Supervisor of any incidents, accidents, injuries or property damage immediately.
- Operating truck in all weather conditions and work environments.
- Notify Route Supervisor or dispatch of service interruptions, including blocked containers, closed lots, streets, alleyways or any potential safety hazards.
- Knowledge of proper DOT loading, transportation and shipping procedures for commodities.
- Must maintain a verified and unexpired Commercial driver’s license and safe driving record.
- Follow all company policies per Employee Handbook & Code of Conduct.
- Follow all company safety guidelines.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
