POSITION: Stacker Operator
Location: Conyers, GA PSS
Shift: 3rd Shift Available (11 PM - 7 AM) OT may be required
SUMMARY
The Stacker Operator manages all end-of-line activities for the corrugator, ensuring sheets are stacked, organized, and prepared for downstream production. This role is vital to maintaining flow, quality, and safety, requiring a proactive individual who is eager to learn multiple machine functions and optimize production efficiency.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Production & Operation: Operate corrugator conveyor lines and unitizers according to the production schedule.
- Quality Control: Count and verify units; ensure accurate load tags are present and protective top/bottom sheets are correctly applied.
- Equipment Maintenance: Proactively monitor equipment; submit maintenance work orders for repairs and assist with basic troubleshooting/cleanup.
- Cross-Training: Train in Slitter Operator and Doublebacker positions to provide backup and advance your technical knowledge.
- Material Handling: Restack, flip, and band units as necessary. Read and interpret corrugator lineups and factory masters.
- Collaboration: Relay critical adjustments to crew members promptly and assist the Corrugator crew as directed by supervision.
- Safety & Housekeeping: Maintain a clean, hazard-free workspace and strictly adhere to all company safety policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Preferred: 6 months of experience in a corrugator environment or the corrugated packaging industry.
Technical & Mathematical Skills
- Measurement: Ability to read a tape measure with high speed and accuracy.
- Mathematics: Proficient in calculating percentages, volumes, and rates (High School level math).
- Documentation: Ability to read, interpret, and follow complex instructions on factory masters and production layouts.
Reasoning Ability
- Practical problem-solving skills to handle variables in standardized situations.
- Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, or graphic formats.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Physical Activity: Regularly required to stand and walk for long periods; frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crawling.
- Lifting/Handling: Manual dexterity required to handle, feel, or finger materials.
