Job Description
Overview:
- Receives product off the main banding line.
- Checks load tags and either loads the product into the specified trailer(s), or moves product into inventory.
- Moves product from inventory to machines.
- Completes the required paper work.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Follow and help to ensure that fellow workers adhere to all applicable safe work policies & procedures.
- Conduct daily inspections of equipment.
- Be constantly vigilant and maintain a safe & clean work area.
- Utilize scanners and ensure inventories are kept accurate.
- Ensure that all orders produced are moved to the next operation.
- Handle product to minimize damage
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- Must be a licensed powered industrial truck operator
- Must be able to operate a lift truck safely with minimal product damage
- Must be able to accurately scan load tags and maintain accurate inventories
- Must be able to read and follow production schedules
Required Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Intermediate computer skills
- Strong math/algebra skills
- Problem solving and critical thinking
Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience preferred, not required.
- Forklift license required.
Physical Demands:
- The employee is regularly required to walk and talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms.
- The employee is occasionally required to sit.
- Vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment:
- Work space is not climate controlled and can reach both hot and cold extremes (30 degrees – 110 degrees Fahrenheit).
