What are the responsibilities and job description for the Peer Support Mobile Responder position at Prairie View?
POSITION OBJECTIVES:
- To provide a friendly and professional response to persons experiencing emergent or urgent psychiatric or personal issues and responding to them in-person/on-site as safely appropriate and necessary.
- To collaborate and coordinate with local law enforcement/EMS/hospital emergency departments as appropriate and necessary to coordinate care and ensure a safe environment for the patient and staff providing mental health support and assessment.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in related field of behavioral health sciences or equivalent
- Minimum Experience: Demonstrated skills in the provision of case management
- Must be at least 20 years of age
- Must have good listening skills, verbal skills, and written communication skills
- Must be able to observe patient demeanor and non-verbal communication for assessment purposes
- Must be able to pass Kansas Bureau of Investigation Screen, Central Registry Screen, and DCF (Kansas Dept. for Children & Families, formerly SRS) background check
