Are you a hardworking, dependable team player who enjoys working in a fast-paced kitchen? Prairie House Food & Spirits is looking for a Cook to join our team!
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, keeps the kitchen clean and organized, and understands that a successful kitchen takes teamwork, communication, and preparation.
Job Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to our standards.
- Keep the kitchen clean, organized, and properly sanitized throughout each shift.
- Complete a thorough deep cleaning of the kitchen every night.
- Prep food and prepare the kitchen for the next day or incoming shift.
- Ensure all food, ingredients, and supplies are stocked and ready to go.
- Monitor inventory and communicate when items are running low so they can be reordered.
- Help with dishes and other kitchen duties as needed.
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.
- Work together with the kitchen and front-of-house staff to keep operations running smoothly.
- Be willing to learn, take direction, and jump in wherever help is needed.

- Ability to work nights and weekends. Scheduling can be flexible, with shifts rotated among the team.
- Previous cooking or kitchen experience is preferred but not required.
- Food safety certification is a plus, but not required.
Kitchen Hours
- Sunday–Thursday: Kitchen closes at 9:00 PM, except Sunday at 8:00 PM.
- Friday–Saturday: Kitchen closes at 10:00 PM.
Please note that closing duties and nightly cleaning are part of the job, so employees should be prepared to finish their responsibilities after the kitchen closes.
