- Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients using proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations in compliance with food safety standards and safety protocols
- Support the kitchen team during busy service periods by ensuring timely meal preparation and delivery
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure safety and quality in all food production processes
- Help with menu planning by suggesting improvements or new ideas based on ingredient availability and customer preferences
- Ensure all food served meets safety standards in production, handling, and presentation
Skills
- Proven experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments with a strong foundation in culinary techniques
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Skilled in food preparation, cooking, and meal assembly with attention to detail
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Excellent knife skills, including slicing techniques for various ingredients
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety
