Position Summary
Prairie Grit Therapy is growing and looking for a licensed physical therapist to join our team! This position has a truly flexible schedule with part or full-time opportunities available and the ability to set your own work hours.
Prairie Grit Therapy is located within the Minot Family YMCA, providing a fun, motivating, functional, and dynamic environment for therapeutic activities. Prairie Grit Therapists work closely with patients to evaluate their needs and develop individualized plans of care aimed at achieving meaningful functional goals. Therapists collaborate with YMCA staff, facilities, and programs to promote a comprehensive, wellness-focused approach to rehabilitation. This integrated model supports patients in improving overall health, independence, and quality of life. Therapists in adult-focused roles primarily serve individuals 18 years of age and older. Based on experience and areas of interest, opportunities may also be available to work with younger populations as appropriate. Mentorship and professional development opportunities are offered to support continued growth.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with injuries, illness, acute, and/or chronic conditions.
- Create and implement individual and effective treatment plans to improve or restore physical function, improve quality of life, alleviate pain, and/or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
- Reassesses clients on a regular basis and modify the treatment, treatment plan, and goals as needed.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation including evaluations, daily notes, progress notes, caregiver education, equipment recommendations, home exercise programs, physician communication, letters of medical necessity, discharges, and billing.
- Collaborate with other health care professionals to best meet the patient’s needs.
- Handles a variable workload appropriately while maintaining a positive working environment for both the clients and staff and maintains quality care for the clients.
- Demonstrates appropriate, professional, and safe treatment techniques and exercises for the client.
- Takes initiative for keeping the clinic and any space utilized within the YMCA clean and organized.
- Provides patient (and/ or caregiver) education which is appropriate to the patient’s needs, diagnosis, and age.
- Supervises, instructs, and educates other staff and volunteers as needed.
Skills Required/Qualifications:
Education:
Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy
Experience:
- Must have successfully completed all Physical Therapy education required for graduation from an accredited program.
Licenses:
- Current North Dakota Physical Therapy license
