Role Description This full-time, on-site CDL Class A Owner/Operator Crude Hauler role is based in Roosevelt, UT. The Owner/Operator is responsible for safely hauling crude oil from well sites and production facilities to designated delivery points, following all company, customer, and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, monitoring product loading and unloading, maintaining accurate logs and delivery documentation, and communicating with dispatch regarding schedules, routes, and any issues encountered. The role requires strict adherence to DOT, state, and local regulations, as well as Prairie Field Services’ safety policies and procedures. The Owner/Operator is also responsible for basic truck and trailer upkeep, promptly reporting maintenance needs, and consistently representing the company in a professional, courteous manner.
Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license with tanker and hazardous materials endorsements, and a clean driving record with verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Proven experience hauling crude oil or similar bulk liquid commodities, with strong knowledge of safe loading, unloading, and product handling procedures.
- Comprehensive understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and applicable state regulations, including hours-of-service rules and required documentation.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, including consistent use of PPE, adherence to site-specific safety protocols, and strong situational awareness in field environments.
- Strong vehicle inspection and basic mechanical skills, with the ability to identify and report maintenance issues and perform routine checks on truck and trailer systems.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, including clear coordination with dispatch, field personnel, and customers, and the ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Reliable time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage schedules, maintain accurate logs, and handle required paperwork and electronic recordkeeping.
