What are the responsibilities and job description for the Slot Assistant Shift Manager position at PRAIRIE BAND POTAWATOMI ENTERTAINMENT CORP?
Responsible for monitoring and supervising daily slot floor operations, ensuring courteous and prompt service is provided by all Team Members. Responsible for creating an environment of fun and excitement on the floor where all guests feel comfortable and welcome.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees all slot floor operations in a manner that accomplishes department and property goals on shift as assigned in the absence of the Slot Shift Manager
- Provides direction, support, and supervision to all slot team members
- Effectively communicates both verbally and written to guests and team members with the utmost respect
- Responsible for assisting with the hiring and development of team members while ensuring an adequate level of labor is used to perform the required level of service
- Understands, administers, and reviews performance appraisals, sets performance expectations, and provides coaching, and operational support for the Slot Operation
- Adheres to regulatory, departmental, and Company policies and procedures in an ethical manner and encourages others to do the same.
- Acts as a role model; encourages others to do the same
- Leads by positive example; consistent and ethical with decisions
- Meets deadlines for PAFs, career growth, manager meetings, etc.
- Other duties as assigned
- Assists with training Slot team members, and attends all required training
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- Demonstrated proficiency in solving basic math equations
- Must be able to function both independently and as a member of a team;
- Exhibits leadership qualities, and is considered by others to be a leader
- Must present a well-groomed appearance
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule which may include various shifts, weekends, and holidays
- A record of satisfactory performance and reliability in all prior and current employment
Preferred
- Three years of successful supervisory experience in a casino environment
- Extensive knowledge of casino rules, regulations, and procedures pertinent to Slot Operations
- Have knowledge of the skills necessary for the Slot Attendant/Host position

- Must be able to stand, stoop, bend, and walk for extended amounts of time (8-10 hours)
- Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust

- Must be able to discern times to make exceptions based on the impact to the business (financially or otherwise)
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
- Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues
