About the Role
Praetorian Power Protection has partnered with a premier General Contractor client to identify a highly capable Commissioning (Cx) Manager to support our Mission Critical group in Portland, Oregon.
We are seeking a hands-on leader with deep technical expertise and a proven track record of managing complex commissioning efforts. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between high-level strategy and field execution to ensure the seamless delivery of sophisticated power and cooling infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
-
Strategic Planning: Develop and manage a comprehensive commissioning plan and integrated schedule, covering all phases from initial inspection and startup to final testing and closeout.
-
Field Leadership: Lead on-site commissioning activities, directing internal teams, subcontractors, and vendors while enforcing strict safety compliance with NFPA 70E and LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) requirements.
-
Digital Management: Implement and oversee commissioning management software—including BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) Build, and CxAlloy—to track execution and maintain rigorous documentation.
-
Stakeholder Coordination: Interface directly with the client and the client’s Commissioning Agent (CxA) to define and deliver project-specific requirements, test scripts, and turnover documentation.
-
Technical Oversight: Manage comprehensive technical reviews, including MEP systems, QA/QC coordination, load-bank planning, equipment startup, and Factory Witness Testing (FWT).
-
Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a lead consultant during design reviews, scope matrix development, budgeting, and script feasibility for high-performance building systems.
I have cleaned up the formatting, corrected the technical abbreviations, and added professional polish to the "L2 – L5" commissioning levels to ensure they stand out to experienced candidates.
