Duties And Responsibilities
- In conjunction with the VP, operations and RMD, takes corrective action including termination of individuals who do not meet corporate, facility, or contractual performance standards
- Works with company divisional leadership to assure compliance with the operating budget is maintained
- Assists with recruitment and interviewing of all program staff
- Orients all new clinicians; consistently transmits to clinicians all information directed to them from company
- Provides medical administrative direction and oversight regarding the care of patients admitted to the hospitalist service
- Directs and oversees the program's compliance with voluntary, state and federal agencies, laws, rules and regulations; participates in JCAHO or other survey processes as needed
- Collaborates with facility administration in the development, approval and implementation of all policies, procedures and protocols for the program
- Conducts routine performance management reviews of practitioners in the department
- Oversees program staff and scheduling, making adjustments as necessary for adequate coverage for the program
- Creates an equitable schedule, periodically working all types of shifts
- Performs additional clinical staff physician duties
- Needs to be able to perform four clinical shifts per month
