Position Highlights
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
- On-Call: Minimal
- Practice Setting: Inpatient, outpatient, CBOC, and ED
- Environment: Stable staffing, strong clinical support, and mission-aligned leadership
- Patient Population: Veterans within a dedicated VA healthcare system
- Conduct thorough pre-anesthesia evaluations, including history, physicals, and risk assessment
- Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans
- Deliver high-quality anesthesia care, including:
- General anesthesia
- Regional anesthesia
- Spinal and epidural anesthesia
- Monitored anesthesia care (MAC)
- Perform routine, complex, and emergent airway management, including advanced techniques and mechanical ventilation
- Place and manage arterial lines and central venous catheters
- Document anesthesia care accurately in the electronic medical record
- Supervise and mentor CRNAs and other anesthesia personnel
- Collaborate with perioperative teams to improve OR efficiency, patient flow, and quality outcomes
- Participate in education and mentoring of physicians, CRNAs, and trainees

- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited or AOA-approved Anesthesiology residency
- Current, full, and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
- Eligibility for VA credentialing and privileging
- Demonstrated competency across anesthesia modalities:
- General, regional, spinal, epidural, MAC
- Proficiency in advanced airway management and mechanical ventilation
- Ability to place arterial lines and central venous catheters
- Hospital-based or integrated healthcare system experience
- Supervisory or collaborative experience with CRNAs
- Fiberoptic or other advanced airway techniques
- Teaching or mentoring physicians, CRNAs, or medical trainees
- Familiarity with perioperative workflow optimization initiatives
- Experience within the VA, federal healthcare systems, or similarly regulated environments
