Responsibilities
Database Migration: Plan, execute, and manage migration of databases across platforms (on-prem to cloud or cross-DBMS).
Performance Tuning: Optimize queries, indexes, and configurations during and after migration.
Backup & Recovery: Ensure robust backup strategies and disaster recovery plans.
Security Management: Implement and maintain database security, user access, and compliance standards.
Collaboration: Work closely with application developers, business analysts, and infrastructure teams to ensure smooth migration.
Required Skills
Database Platforms: Strong experience with Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or PostgreSQL (depending on client environment).
Migration Tools: Familiarity with tools like Oracle GoldenGate, SQL Server Migration Assistant, or cloud-native migration utilities.
Scripting: Proficiency in Shell, Python, or PowerShell for automation.
Cloud Experience: Exposure to AWS RDS, Azure SQL, or Google Cloud databases is a plus.
Financial Domain: Prior experience in financial services or enterprise-scale environments preferred.
