Strategic Network Recruitment
- Actively search for and recruit new, forward-thinking attorneys to expand the Referral Network, particularly targeting geographical areas and practice areas where shortages exist
- Identify attorneys outside the existing network through events, legal trade groups, your network, or using external tools like Google, Justia, and State Bar directories
- Develop strategies to recruit mission-aligned attorneys willing to push the envelope on efficiency and technology (e.g., AI automation)
- Communicate the benefits of joining the network
- Cultivate relationships with existing referral attorneys, using data and performance metrics to identify potential candidates for promotion to Provider Firm status
- Run reports to analyze referral attorney activity, including the types and volume of cases they handle, leveraging data points like NPS and Member Satisfaction (MSAT)
- Create a clear pathway and advocate for high-performing referral attorneys to transition into Provider Firms
- Formalize and modernize credentialing standards and processes to ensure consistent professional competence across the network
- Develop measurable customer-service and responsiveness benchmarks, or enhance those already in use (mostly NPS) to drive a high-quality client experience
- Work closely with the manager of training and communication to develop and roll out training programs to strengthen “bedside-manner” skills - communication, empathy, clarity, and trust-building
- Drive and measure adoption of training across the Referral Attorney network
- Integrate and unify credentialing, service processes, and interpersonal excellence into a scalable, repeatable model
- Own the process of onboarding new Referral Firms
- Upon successful onboarding, support and champion the new Referral Attorney to help them succeed in the LegalShield referral network
- Own the referral process internally at LegalShield, ensuring smooth handoffs between referral attorneys and Provider Firms, quality service delivery, and general member satisfaction
- Participate in and, as appropriate, drive build vs buy decisions related to referral processes and technologies
- Work closely with the VP of Lawyer Services to scope, on-board, and see successful implementation of referral processes in-house at LegalShield
- Work closely with VP of Lawyer Services and others internally (e.g. legal and product) to integrate Referral Attorneys into any new business processes or entities as LegalShield explores new delivery models
- Serve as primary owner/administrator of referral management tools
- Monitor tool performance, user adoption, and identify opportunities for enhancement
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Communications, Legal Studies, or a related field is required.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Organizational Leadership, or a related discipline is preferred.
- 8-12 years of experience in recruitment, relationship management, or business development, preferably within the legal sector
- Strong analytical skills for leveraging data (NPS, utilization, geography) to identify network gaps and opportunities
- Familiarity with the processes and tools used for attorney compliance, licensing verification, and credentialing (e.g., using state bar websites, legal communities, etc.)
- Ability to conduct outreach and negotiate relationships with firms ranging in size from solos to larger firms
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for managing compliance processes
- Comfort working independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams
- Process improvement experience - demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and implement solutions
- Background in legal operations, law firm recruiting, or professional services talent acquisition
- Understanding of legal ethics, professional responsibility, and malpractice insurance requirements
- Experience with CRM or case management systems
- Knowledge of geographic coverage gaps in legal services delivery
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (Tableau, Excel, NPS platforms)
