Application Technician

As an Application Technician, you will support the Coatings Application team on different projects and respond to requests from different business units. You will follow standard operating procedures and industry standards for applying coating materials. You will report to the Additive Manufacturing Leader and you will work onsite at our Allison Park R&D Center.

Main Responsibilities:

• Perform general lab upkeep and maintenance.
• Operate automated and robotic paint spray systems.
• Perform periodic maintenance of lab equipment, spray booths, and lab spaces.
• Prepare specimens for different application methodologies.
• Maintain 5S standards for lab organization and equipment cleanliness.
• Uphold safety standards and EH&S guidelines.
• Manage lab waste disposal and inventory of supplies.
• Document and report experimental procedures and observations.
• Independently execute experiments with supervisory guidance.

Technical Qualifications:

• Mechanically inclined; experience with fluid pump and control systems.
• Skilled in preventative maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Able to install equipment, write instructions, and perform repairs.

Education & Experience:

• High School Diploma or GED required, Associate Degree in Chemical Engineering or related field preferred
• Up to 5 years in chemical industry or lab environments.
• Spray coating or paint application experience.
• Familiarity with robotic systems.
• Capable of basic mechanical/electrical repairs.
