Position Summary
As an ELD Teacher, you will deliver engaging English Language Development instruction that accelerates language proficiency and supports academic achievement. You'll work closely with students, teachers, and families to ensure every learner thrives in alignment with Arizona's ELP Standards and AZELLA requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide daily, explicit ELD instruction aligned to Arizona's ELP Standards
- Integrate SEI strategies to support comprehension in core content classes.
- Track EL student progress using AZELLA scores, formative assessments, classroom data, and school benchmarks.
- Create engaging lesson plans and interventions when needed
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a field relevant to the curriculum.
- Current Arizona K-12 Teaching Certificate OR Appropriately Certified:
- An approved alternative path (e.g., Emergency Cert, Teacher Intern Cert, Teachers in Industry, etc.)
- Structured English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid IVP DPS Fingerprint Clearance Card.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in an alternative or non-traditional school setting.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Experience with MTSS, PLCs, and data-driven instruction.
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and restorative practices.
- Familiarity with PowerSchool SIS
Core Competencies
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to differentiate instruction in small, mixed-level groups.
- Organizational skills to maintain compliance documentation and meet deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Classroom for instructional and compliance tasks.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to see a computer monitor.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift twenty five (25) pound
