SB Mobile Installations
The offered position is for an Independent Contractor mobile technician's to perform installations of telecommunications equipment into fleet and construction type vehicles. Candidates are recommended to be over the age of 21 due to the minimum age requirements for rental car companies and hotels. Equipment must be installed following specific installation guidelines and approved connection procedures. Installations will be performed at customers locations with the possibility of shop locations throughout the U.S. The offered position does require the applicant to possess a valid Driver’s License while utilizing their personal vehicle for travel. The applicant must be willing to travel for periods at a time and possess a smart phone to be utilized for data submission after each installation is completed.
Position Requirements
Applicant must:
- Must be able to travel state to state.
- Possess a valid drivers license.
- Provide a personal vehicle for travel.
- Pass a background check.
- Conduct the installation and service of ELD/GPS/AOBRD and fleet management equipment into various types of vehicles.
- Have understanding of vehicle installation practices pertaining to Electrical Systems and Mechanical knowledge.
- Abide by all required installation data submission processes which will also include multiple images from each installation performed.
- Effective communication and customer service skills.
- Maintain positive customer relations while keeping in timely contact with all scheduling managers.
- Account for and keep track of all equipment.
Have the ability to:
- Work independently without supervision.
- Keep paperwork organized.
- Maintain an effective level of customer service.
- Ensure all vehicles and workspace is kept clean.
- Ensuring all installed equipment is functional prior to leaving the customers location.
Have prior experience?
- Experience with installing GPS and fleet management equipment in fleet type vehicles.
- Stereo installations.
- Experience utilizing a Multimeter on 12 & 24 Volt electrical systems.
- Determining different types of electrical connections.
- Experience in electrical diagnostics on various types on 12 &24 Volt electrical systems.
- Troubleshooting failed 12 Volt electrical components and completing repairs.
- Experience in disassembling interior/exterior panels on passenger-commercial type vehicles. This includes the dashboard and panels found in various locations which can also include the engine compartment.
- MECP preferred.
- Automotive.
- Troubleshooting and locating connections on 12 Volt systems.
