About the Role
The Automation Sales Manager will lead, develop, and grow our regional Business Development team, guiding them to expand Pieper Automation’s footprint in existing and new markets. Reporting to the Director of Sales, this role will shape and execute sales strategies that drive revenue growth, strengthen customer partnerships, and position Pieper Automation as a premier provider of custom automation solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role — approximately 75% coach / 25% player — for someone who enjoys mentoring sales professionals while also engaging directly on key accounts and complex opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop a high-performing team of Business Development Managers through coaching, training, and consistent performance feedback.
Drive new business growth — increase the proportion of work sourced through proactive sales from 30% to 50–60% of total revenue.
Collaborate with the Director of Sales, Operations, and branch leadership to align strategies, goals, and resource plans across geographies.
Expand market reach by identifying and developing opportunities in existing customer bases and new industries.
Assign territories and set sales goals, ensuring balanced workloads and clear accountability.
Leverage cross-selling opportunities with Pieper Electric’s industrial/commercial clients to deliver integrated solutions.
Shape and execute sales planning, including forecasting, funnel management, and reporting on key metrics such as revenue growth, customer acquisition, and territory expansion.
Foster a servant-leader culture built on trust, curiosity, and collaboration.
