Duties
- Manage daily operations of the pet facility, including scheduling staff and coordinating activities to ensure smooth workflow.
- Oversee animal handling procedures, ensuring proper restraint, feeding, grooming, and enrichment activities are conducted with compassion and professionalism.
- Supervise pet care services such as dog training sessions, doggy daycare, dog boarding, grooming, transportation and veterinary-related activities to maintain high standards of animal welfare.
- Train and mentor staff in animal handling techniques, customer service excellence, and safety protocols to foster a knowledgeable and motivated team.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations by maintaining cleanliness, sanitation standards, and proper record-keeping for all animals in care
- Handle customer inquiries with enthusiasm and professionalism, providing expert advice on pet care needs while building strong client relationships.
Experience
- Proven experience in animal handling, including dog training, dog handling, or kennel work.
- Background in veterinary settings or veterinary technician/assistant roles is highly desirable.
- Hands-on pet grooming or dog boarding -kennel experience that demonstrates a caring approach to animals.
- Familiarity with animal restraint techniques and general animal care practices.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for animal transport or equipment setup.
- Prior supervisory or management experience in a pet care or animal-related environment is preferred but not required.
