Role Description

We are seeking a motivated Freight Agent (Independent Contractor) for a full-time remote role. As a Freight Agent, you will be responsible for managing client accounts, developing and maintaining relationships with shippers and carriers, negotiating freight rates, coordinating transportation services, and ensuring timely delivery of freight. You will also provide superior customer service, monitor shipment progress, resolve issues proactively, and ensure all operations align with compliance standards.

Qualifications

• Sales and negotiation skills to secure competitive freight rates and build relationships with carriers and clients.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills to manage multiple shipments and client accounts effectively.
• Communication and customer service abilities to provide support, understand client needs, and resolve issues promptly.
• Proficient in logistics technology platforms and freight management systems; familiarity with tracking tools is a plus.
• Independent self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to work remotely while meeting performance goals.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1-year experience in logistics, supply chain management, or transportation, highly encouraged
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a desire to maximize income on a commission basis (no limit on earnings potential)
• Proficiency in using logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations
• Must possess a strong sense of integrity and honesty
• Must possess your own home office (work from anywhere) including computer hardware, phone and internet
• Confident decision-making skills
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to multitask
• Exceptional written communication skills
• Customer service oriented
• High school diploma or equivalent; a Bachelor's degree in logistics, business, or related field is a plus

Responsibilities:

• Perform a minimum of 50 cold calls per day (strong leads are provided)
• Tracking and documenting relevant activities
• Use CRM to identify, call, and track prospects
• Manage your book of Customers; maintain & develop your existing accounts and prospect for new accounts
• Effectively maintain a pipeline to generate revenue to meet or exceed goals and expectations
• Professional collaboration and coordination with shippers, carriers, and dispatchers
• Understand market trends and conditions to offer competitive solutions to our customers
• Negotiate price and cost of carrier services
• Ability and desire to provide exceptional service to customers and carriers by taking ownership of shipments through their entire lifecycle
