Paint Shop Worker 2nd Shift

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Painter to join our team. As a Painter, you will be responsible for applying paint and other finishes to various surfaces. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and a strong work ethic. If you have experience in paint spraying, construction painting, and restoration work, we encourage you to apply.

POWERCON JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Responsibilities:

• Prepare, set up, and test all paint spraying equipment prior to use to make sure all equipment is in working order.
• Apply surface materials when required to fill any surface imperfections. Inspect surface condition prior to coating and report any irregularities to immediate supervisor.
• Select and use various types of hand tools, abrasive sandpapers, and grinders.
• Understand and be able to recognize surfaces for painting readiness including the presence of grit.
• Prepare and mix coating materials in accordance with coating manufacturer's specifications.
• Apply protective coatings to various types of surfaces (generally metal) using spray equipment, brushes, or rollers.
• Measure coating film thicknesses dry and wet as required by job specifications.
• Clean all paint spraying equipment upon completion of use and report any defective parts or equipment maintenance required to immediate supervisor. Keep work area clean and free of debris.
• Ensure proper ventilation in work areas to minimize fumes and odors
• Clean and maintain painting tools and equipment
• Follow safety guidelines and wear appropriate protective gear

To excel in this role, you should possess the following skills:

• Proven experience as a Painter or similar role
• Knowledge of various painting techniques and materials
• Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in painting
• Ability to read blueprints and follow instructions
• Basic carpentry skills for trim work and repairs
• Experience in concrete finishing is a plus
• Attention to detail and strong work ethic

Compensation: The hourly pay rate will be determined based on the candidate’s relevant experience, qualifications, skills, and overall suitability for the position.
