This is a hands-on design role focused on mechanical systems, moving assemblies, and production-ready components. You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, and leadership to bring new concepts from idea to reality.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and production drawings using SolidWorks
- Design and develop mechanical systems with moving parts and mechanisms
- Design components and assemblies using sheet metal, including bends, tolerances, and manufacturability considerations
- Support new product development from concept through prototyping and production
- Prepare drawings for manufacturing, including BOMs, tolerances, and specifications
- Revise and update designs based on testing, feedback, and production requirements
- Collaborate with engineers, fabricators, and suppliers to ensure designs are cost-effective and manufacturable
- Maintain organized CAD files and documentation
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory)
- Proven experience designing mechanical assemblies with moving parts
- Hands-on experience designing sheet metal components
- Ability to create clear, accurate manufacturing drawings
- Understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and fabrication processes
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Experience in consumer products, sports equipment, or mechanical product development
- Familiarity with prototyping, testing, and design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Experience working in a fast-paced, product-driven environment
- Knowledge of machining, welding, or injection molding is a plus
