What are the responsibilities and job description for the Device Engineer position at Power Integrations?
Participate in the development of world-class high-voltage power devices and analog/mixed signal process technologies in a fabless environment
Responsibilities
- Design new test boards to characterize switching performance of GaN and other WBG power semiconductor devices
- Hands-on static and dynamic characterization of power semiconductor devices and circuits
- Analyze and present characterization data to understand the effect of process/design, and provide recommendations related to operation in high-performance power converter applications
- Support key customer requirements with characterization data
- Support wafer level device characterization and failure analysis, as needed
Requirements
- MSEE is required.
- Good understanding of various SMPS topologies
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in designing switch mode power supply using WBG power devices
- Hands-on experience with GaN power device characterization, including Dynamic Rdson would be desirable
- Good understanding of power semiconductor device physics
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Power Integrations is committed to building teams that drive innovation and therefore review a range of factors when determining compensation. The annual base pay range for this position is $105,000 to $150,000.
Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, qualifications and work location. The range displayed on the job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position in California. Within the range, individual pay is determined by additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
