Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for coordinating, administering and controlling financial operations. Provides tax, insurance and other reports required by governmental regulations. Reviews, analyzes and interprets financial and budgetary reports. Directs all aspects of accounting operations and the preparation of annual financial forecasts. Oversees the development of financial accounting systems required to maintain reporting requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Establishing and maintaining the Bank’s financial policies and procedures by providing operational administrative direction to the accounting, budgeting, tax and insurance functions
- Maintaining the company’s financial structure and coordinating the Company’s relationships and covenants with financial institutions, suppliers, and government agencies
- Managing all accounting functions including, but not limited to: General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Liquidity Planning and Billing
- Preparing monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and analyze the financial results.
- Reviewing working capital on a regular basis and monitoring the company’s cash flow
- Oversees and coordinating the financial planning, forecasting and budgeting process
- Directing and coordinating the Company’s annual year-end audit with the independent auditors
- Managing the Bank’s business insurance policies
- Works with the CEO and Board of Directors to coordinate and establish priorities for the planning process.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Minimum of 10 years accounting experience with at least three years in a managerial role; public accounting and small business experience preferred
- BA/BS in accounting and CPA is required and an MBA is a plus
- Strong knowledge in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll Processes, etc.
- Technical and comprehensive knowledge of all finance, financial planning, accounting and tax areas of a business including an excellent understanding of GAAP
- Experience with selecting and implementing account systems
- Excellent computer skills including all MS Office applications. (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required
- Excellent management and supervisory skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be efficient with strong attention to detail
- Must have strong customer support orientation (for internal/external customers), demonstrated professional demeanor, and the ability to maintain confidential information
- Must have strong skills in organization and planning, demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment and problem solving
