Position Summary
The busser position is very important to the department and the mountain. Bussers maintain a clean environment in and around guest areas and are the front line of cleanliness and what guests see. They bridge the gap between guests and our in-house recycling program and assist with restaurant opening and closing duties.
Major Responsibilities/ Daily Essential Functions
- Resets tables according to the specifications of the restaurant.
- Removes plates and silverware when all guests have finished.
- Sort individual rubbish items into respective recycling receptacles.
- Sort service ware and prep for dishwasher.
- Sets up and breaks down for each shift.
- Maintains service stations in a clean and orderly manner throughout the shift.
- Performs all opening and closing side work as required.
- Follows all safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Refill water stations and help keep guest areas properly stocked.
- Accountable for accurate timekeeping. Responsible for clocking in and out with employee passes.
- Complete any reasonable task assigned by the supervisor.
- Observe mountain-wide policies found in the Employee Handbook.
Secondary Function
- Assist with dishwashing duties when needed.
- Assist with keeping areas clean and sanitized.
- Assist with cashiering when needed.
- Food prep if needed by kitchen staff.
- Snow removal duties.
Job Scope
The position does not have any supervisory or decision-making responsibilities.
Interpersonal Contacts
The position will have constant guest/ staff interaction.
Specific Job Skills/Certifications
- License/Certifications: Oregon Food Handler’s Card
- Technical: Excellent communication skills. Some computer knowledge to cross-train on the Point-of-Sale Computer System.
- Physical Capabilities: Continuously lift 50 pounds and long periods of walking while carrying heavy bussing containers.
- Additional: The candidate must have a positive attitude, be flexible with hours and days of work, and be able to work any hour of the day, any day of the week. The candidate must also be proactive with all cleaning/bussing duties, work well under pressure, be a quick learner, and work well in a team environment.
Education/Related Experience
- Minimum education required: Some High School, Diploma or GED preferred.
- Minimum time in related position: No experience necessary, kitchen/restaurant experience preferred.

Additionally, the position will require frequent visual concentration, rapid reactions to changes, and the utilization of hand/eye coordination.
Current Hiring Rate: $16.00/hr
