Customer Service/Sales Representative

Poured Candle Bar is New York’s first candle bar in the heart of Hudson, NY! We are looking for a Retail Associate / Candle Maker to join our team that shares our passion for delivering a polished white-glove customer experience. Never made candles before? No worries! We provide on the job training!

This new team member will be responsible for guiding customers throughout the Poured Candle Bar Fragrance Experience as they make their own custom fragrance (candles, reed diffusers, perfumes). As we’re a hybrid retail/wine bar, we’re looking for a Jack/Jill of All Trades to join us!

This position will encompass all aspects of our business from candle making, to bartending/serving, and helping with our retail. Additional duties will include helping with bussing/turning over stations, restocking supplies in our store, and overall support throughout our shop when needed. We’re a family-run, LGBTQIA owned small business, and we’re extremely passionate about the level of service we’re bringing to the Hudson Valley. It’s All Hands On Deck when we’re in service, and no job is too big or too small to get things done. If you have 2 years of retail/serving experience in a boutique or higher end establishment with deep understanding of what a discerning customer might need, we can train you to become an excellent Chandler (candle maker).

Pay: $20 per hour*

Physical Setting:

• Candle Bar - Casual Vegan candle and wine bar

Schedule:

• Weekends (Friday Flexible afternoon/evening, Saturday AND Sunday (must have open availability on both days) and Holiday availability are required
• 16-24 hours per week (potentially more as our business grows)

*Supplemental Pay:

• Quarterly bonus based on company and personal performance. You must be employed on the date bonuses are paid to be eligible for your performance bonus.

Experience:

• 2 years of Retail / Server experience; preference towards candidates who have experience in an upscale boutique/bar/restaurant
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• High attention to detail
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must not need sponsorship to work in the US
