About Us
Pounds Transformation is a private medical practice specializing in non-surgical weight loss and metabolic rehabilitation, with a focus on sustainable results. We have offices in Southington, West Hartford, and Glastonbury, CT.
We're seeking an energetic, compassionate, and team-oriented Medical Assistant to join our growing practice. This position is based primarily in our West Hartford office, with occasional travel to Southington or Glastonbury for coverage as needed. The ideal candidate is a strong multi-tasker who's comfortable working across locations when coverage is required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patient charts for providers, ensuring all necessary orders are in place prior to the visit
- Accurately perform and document patient vitals, medication reconciliation, and related intake tasks
- Obtain lab work as requested by the medical provider
- Handle medication prior authorizations
- Maintain a clear understanding of patient flow to keep providers on schedule, using strong time-management skills
- Answer phone calls
- Follow established policies and procedures, and report needed changes
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers to support team goals
- Provide occasional coverage travel to Southington or Glastonbury offices as needed
Schedule
Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–6:00 PM. Enjoy a 3-day weekend every week — a great fit for anyone seeking real work/life balance.

Qualifications
- Certified Medical Assistant (required)
- 1 year of experience with EMR systems (Athena preferred)
- 1 year of experience taking vital signs
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Basic computer skills and excellent communication skills
