Join Us as an Application Engineer at Potter Global Technologies

At Potter Global Technologies, we’ve been protecting lives around the world for over 125 years—and we’re just getting started. We’re a global leader in life safety solutions, committed to saving lives through innovative technology and trusted partnerships.

Our vision is for our customers to know us globally as their innovative, easy-to-do-business-with, best-in-class life-safety product partner. And our mission? With a passion for creating safer environments worldwide, our mission is to provide our customers with a team of real people that connect them with reliable expertise in life safety applications.

If you're inspired by purpose, energized by collaboration, and thrive in an environment of feedback, ownership, and experimentation—you’ll feel at home here.

As an Application Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the successful application of Potter Fire Safety products by providing technical expertise, system design guidance, and product support throughout the project lifecycle. Our team is looking for someone who enjoys collaborating across engineering, sales, and customer teams, and is driven to ensure solutions are both technically sound and aligned with real-world needs. In this role, you will help bridge the gap between concept and implementation—guiding fire alarm system designs to meet NFPA codes, industry standards, and customer requirements, while leveraging your knowledge of system configuration, fire detection technologies, and integrated life-safety solutions.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on fire alarm systems (hardware and software) providing technical support to help new customers with design application, BOM conversions, and drawing completion.
  • Ensure new dealers and distributors are prepared and proficient with Potter products and solutions.
  • Establish an onboarding roadmap for tracking the process and reporting progress to RSM’s and Sales Leadership.
  • Provide technically focused installation instructions for Potter hardware, software, panels, and devices.
  • Collaborate with customers and Potter Engineering to design fire alarm and smoke control systems that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist customers with existing BOM conversions, take-offs, and system design that encourages Potter product usage.
  • Review existing technical data library and update. When necessary, create technical documentation, including system manuals, installation guides, battery calculation tools, and application notes.
  • Provide technical oversight for customers encountering complex issues during installation, start-up/commissioning, and testing of Potter systems. Conduct in-person technical demonstrations and technical specification reviews for existing and prospective large customers.
